Is Biden standing up to Putin more than Trump? The answer is no. But there’s more to it than that.

First, I’m not saying that Trump stood up to Putin very well. He did a bit, but neither President has made a hardline stance against the Russian leader.

However, there is another truth here. The reason that Biden isn’t standing up to Putin isn’t cowardice. It is something more.

In short, he’ll lose his ass in any kind of battle with Putin. And that’s not being a coward, it’s just recognizing the truth.

Biden is a decent man. Even if you lean more right, you can admit this. Is he a perfect man? Not at all. But he is a decent man.

Thing is, we don’t live in a decent world. We live in a world ruled by greed and fear and violence. It is far from decent. In fact, I would say it is straight-up indecent.

And a decent man gets crushed in an indecent world. Especially if he’s not trained to handle it.

Now, being an American who only sees American press, I can’t really tell what kind of man Putin is. He could be decent or he could not be. Either way, I can’t trust the media here to even know the truth about that, let alone report it accurately.

But Putin does know how to survive and thrive in an indecent world. He has been trained to do that.

Here’s one example of what I’m talking about. I read this in some magazine I got at the airport. It told the story of when Putin first met with Germany’s Merkel.

Before the meeting, he found out she had a big fear of dogs. So, when they met for the first time, he brought the biggest, scariest dog he had with him to meet her.

This may seem to mean. But it wasn’t for that reason.

He simply wanted to see what kind of person he was dealing with. If she jumped or ran afraid, he knew he was dealing with a weaker opponent. When she acted like it didn’t bother her and said nothing about it, he knew she was a strong leader and treated her as such.

Biden, as decent as he is, would never even think of measuring another leader in this way. Because he doesn’t know how to operate in an indecent world.

So, no, Biden is not standing up to Putin more than Trump. And it’s probably best if he doesn’t try and instead just works to create friendly relations between the two countries.
